This is an excellent career opportunity for someone with experience in a full-service hotel or country club, seeking to join a forward-thinking company and specializing in Social and Corporate event planning.
SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
Build our corporate, and social business. Position will be required to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends. This position reports to the Food and Beverage Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Responsible for all catered functions booked at the Club from inception to execution stage.
- Effectively sell event space, food, beverage and function planning services of the Club to maximize revenue.
- Generate new business and maintain regular contact with present accounts to maximize repeat business.
- Develop customized menus for guests, when required.
- Monitor booking trends and actively solicit new business.
- Work in conjunction with the entire Hospitality Team to ensure all events are successfully completed with 100% guest satisfaction.
- Actively participate in trade shows and association events promoting the Club's catering facilities and initiate new contacts.
- Ensure all BEOs' are prepared and posted correctly and all charges due to the Club are recovered from our Clients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post secondary degree in Hospitality and Tourism an asset.
- Excellent customer service, leadership, communication, & organizational skills Requires a minimum of 4 year(s) of experience.
- Must have experience at properties of similar size and profile.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations as well as maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
- Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying and resolving the concerns and issues raised by team members, outside vendors and guests.
