Job Title: Golf Shop Attendant
Reports To: Head Golf Professional
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Position Type: Part-Time

Job Summary:

The Golf Shop Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to members and guests while supporting the daily operations of the golf shop. This role includes sales, merchandising, booking tee times, and assisting with golf events. The ideal candidate is friendly, knowledgeable about golf, and detail oriented.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet members and guests warmly and professionally.
  • Assist customers with merchandise selection, product knowledge, and sales.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for cash and credit transactions including green fees, merchandise, and rentals.
  • Schedule and manage tee times accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain the golf shop’s appearance, including stocking, organizing displays, and keeping the area clean.
  • Receive, tag, and organize new merchandise shipments.
  • Answer phones and respond to questions about course conditions, events, and policies.
  • Communicate effectively with golf professionals and outside services to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Assist with tournament registration, scoring, and event logistics when required.
  • Perform opening and closing duties including cash reconciliation and securing the golf shop.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to read and speak English.
  • Previous customer service or retail experience preferred, using suggestive selling techniques.
  • Golf knowledge and a passion for the game are strongly preferred but not required.
  • Basic computer skills and experience using POS systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.

Working Conditions:

  • Standing for extended periods.
  • May require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Indoor work environment with occasional outdoor exposure during events or peak times.
  • Must work well in a team environment
